Peace in Letting Go

“Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you.” ~I Peter 5:7

No one ever said life would be easy, but with God all things are possible.

Sometimes life can seem unbearable. There are times it is filled with ups and downs. Many times we have seasons when “life” goes as planned, but there are times when we pray and believe, but things remain the same.

Whether it is divorce, unemployment, disruption in relationships or financial difficulty, we have to remind ourselves that the Word of God says cast all your care on Him.

Yet, as much as we try to give our concerns to God, we often find it difficult to let go. Honestly, we spend a lot of time worrying and stressing over things that we have no control over. The stress leads to many sleepless nights, strained relationships and even health concerns.

However, I have learned that in order to live the life God promised, we must have the courage to “let it go.” It may take days, months and in some cases years, but nothing is impossible with God. One thing I have learned is that the more we remember how faithful God has been and how He never failed us, the more faith we have to “let go and let God.”

Letting go may not happen over night, but if God says release it, He knows it can be done.

Therefore, no matter how difficult it gets, we must have strength to trust that God knows what’s best for us. So, despite what we experience, we have to know without a doubt that God loves us too much to not intervene on our behalf.

And, when God says cast all your care on me He knows He has given us the ability to truly release our concerns to Him. And, when we release it, He gives us peace that passes all understanding.

Lord, thank you for given us the strength to cast our cares on you. Thank you for the courage to know that you are truly in control.

Seasons Change

For days, if not weeks, many waited anxiously for the arrival of cooler weather. Surprisingly, during the month of October, some places still experienced warm temperature.

However, as much as we would love to see the seasons change on schedule, there are times the change is delayed.

Honestly, life is a lot like what we experienced in October; waiting for the season to change. But, God continues to prove that He is God alone, His ways are not our ways and His timing is not our timing.

Just like we had to patiently wait for the cooler weather, there are times we have to wait for God to answer prayer.  And, even as we wait, we have to know life goes on and we have to take it one day at a time!

Lord, thank you for being faithful. It is because of your faithfulness that we have strength to wait on you.

There is Hope

“…and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which is interpreted God with us.”~Matthew 1:23

With Christ, we are never alone!

As Christians, we become accustomed to hearing certain things that they begin to sound like a cliche, but I have learned that what we consider normality often gives us the most strength.

Recently, while experiencing a difficult moment, I continued to remind myself that God promised to never leave or forsake us. The more I spoke it the more encouraged I became.

Therefore, no matter what situation you find yourself in, always remember you are not alone. Always know that God loves you too much to leave you forsaken.

I know it becomes difficult at times, but if God continues to keep us; there is always HOPE!

Lord, thank you for your lovingkindness. Thank you for being our ever present help.

Everlasting Love

No matter who we are or how well we plan our lives, sometimes situations occur that shake us to the core. There are circumstances that cause us to question everything we thought we knew about ourselves. It is at that time when we have to truly do as the bible says and “fight the good fight of faith.”

Despite what it looks like, I have learned that we cannot allow situations to lessen who we are. Through it all, we must remember we are valuable, worthy and loved! Also, no matter what life presents, we have to know we are better than what we are experiencing. We have to remember that regardless of what others think, say or even do, we deserve better.

Regardless of current situations, we must never allow anyone or anything to make us think we are not worthy or to cause us to think we are not loved! If no one else shows you love; love yourself, but most of all know God loves you. It is a blessing to know that God’s love is unchanging.

Lord, thank you for your unconditional love. Because of your amazing love, we have confidence in knowing we are truly loved by you!

That Name

IMG_20180303_105103Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow... ~Philippians 2:9-11

Waiting is never easy; especially when waiting on the answer to prayer.

Honestly, there are times we pray, believe and wait for the answer; however, life has taught me that God may not come when or how we want Him, but He is always on time. The Word of God says His ways are not our ways. Even when we do not understand the delay, we must never stop believing.

However, in times when waiting become challenging and our words become few, we can call on that name that is higher than any name.

Just the mention of God’s name brings peace that passes all understanding! His name gives us strength to “fight the good fight of faith.”

So, when we become speechless before God and cannot find the words to express the cares of our heart, we can call on that great Name of Jesus.

Lord, we honor your Holy Name. Thank you for reminding us that there is power in your Name. Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us to remember there is no name that is higher than the Name of Jesus.

You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.” ~Isaiah 62:3

Life brings about many changes, but it is a blessing to know that our identity in Christ remains the same! It is great to know that despite circumstances God has giving us the honor of knowing that we are righteous, holy, beautiful and loved. It is because of Him that we can, in the midst of difficulty, declare our royalty.

I have learned that no one is exempt from life’s challenges, but through it all we must always know who we are in Christ Jesus. We must know that our true identity is in who Jesus is; not in who we are. Although we may find ourselves in interesting situations, we have to remember that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Even when we experience challenges, God is faithful to complete what He started in our lives. However, through every season of life, we have to know that because of Christ’s royalty, we can boldly declare that we are royal!

He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

Lord, we honor your greatness. It is because of you that we have the privilege of declaring our royalty.

Value of a Minute

I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. ~Psalm 34:1

In times past, I allowed situations to dictate my emotions. Over the years, I failed to truly understand the value of a minute.

Many times when we experience difficulty we tend to allow it to affect us negatively. Most times, difficulty has a tendency to affect our mood and how we view life, but recently I learned the value of a minute. Now, I realize how valuable a minute; if not a second, truly is.

However, being at peace in difficult situations does not always come easy. We have to continuously remind ourselves of how blessed we are to see a new day. I have to constantly remember that through every season of life God is good and despite the “current” He is worthy of praise.

Therefore, when we begin to understand just how precious a minute is we are less likely to allow situations to affect us as before. Although we may have a “down” moment, we do not have to allow it to make us forget all the good God has done.

I have truly come to understand the cliche; trouble don’t last always. No matter how difficult it may seem, there is always something to be thankful for!

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. ~Psalm 30:5

Lord, thank you for being patient with us. Thank you for being a High Priest who understands everything about us; yet, your love never changes.
